Just goes to show you how quickly things change, I essentially lived (and quasi-lived) in Oxford during the greater part of the nineties and earliest 2000s, and have never even heard of this place! I am so unfamiliar with post 2k Oxford (which is why this website is nice)!

It is interesting to read about people losing their “staples,” that I didn’t even know existed. I guess most of my Oxford “staples” were lost a long time ago…

While not the ideal night it seems to happen more often than not: Happy Hour upstairs at City Grocery. Folks come in. Lose track of time. Next thing you know, it is closing time. Never left the bar.

I have to admit, this was my second favorite thing when I got off work at Q93 (anyone remember when it was still on the Square?) right at midnight, next to a pimento cheese and caffeine-free Diet Coke. All depended on if I planned to stay up or go straight to bed.

100 times around the Square - not illegal. But, may be dizzying and is certainly expensive these days. I’d save my gas money for a 208 Burger!
