Currence on CBS Sunday Morning
Local restauranteur John Currence is currently featured on the CBS Sunday Morning website’s cooking challenge ‘Chef on a Shoestring‘, where chef’s are challenged to create a three-course meal on a slim $35 budget. Winners in the competition will be invited back during their holiday extravaganza.
Currence’s dish features :
- Garlic Studded Pork Roast with Sweet Potatoes, Pearl Onions & Roasted Mushrooms
- Wild Mushroom & Goat Cheese “Pop Tart” with Balsamic Drizzle
- and Chocolate Espresso Cake

Sounds like a fun marketing idea for John to offer at one of his spots each month (not that he needs it… folks from everywhere clamor to eat his treats). I think it would go over well if he were to offer a set menu one night monthly or so like that with a themed price-fixe menu.
He deserves all the media coverage he gets and it’s awesome to see that he’s stayed in Oxford to continue plying his masterful culinary trade.
