Play Blues Like RL and Junior (Kinda)

One of several blessings I received during my tenure at Ole Miss, was the immersion into Mississippi hill country blues.

The good stuff.

Actually, make that, the great stuff.

Unrefined, gritty, beautiful, and full of life.

RL Burnside and Junior Kimbrough were stewards in my introduction. And to this day, I can’t seem to shake my infatuation with their sound.

Sounds that’d I’d love to try and emulate … only if I played an instrument. And I’m sad to say I don’t. (but that will change).

Pick your lyrics, pick the beat, even turn the radio on for a background beat to play against.. Although it ain’t gonna turn us into RL or Junior, it at least brings us a little closer together : )
